Should I buy a domain which includes my core keywords?
This is a great question… lets start with Google’s stance.
As you can see in the video below, Matt Cutts recommends leaning towards branded domains which are easier to remember and in my opinion become more shareable.
As Matt mentions, you can achieve without keywords within the domain.
Moving on, Google have also released an update which goes specifically after exact match domains which are low quality.
In my opinion, your domain shouldn’t include keywords for keywords sake or as a way to game the system – longer term this can impact on performance of SEO.
If the brand name has specific keywords within the company name, that’s fine, but an example such as – greatwindowsanddoorscompanynottingham.co.uk – doesn’t make for a great domain name or makes it very shareable.
